ABSTRACT
Although the government of Ghana has sought to improve education, the sector faces challenges, including poor learning environments, limited parental involvement in children's education, and late school completion, among others. Chiefs have sought to assist the government in reducing the disparities that exist in educational outcomes in the country. This study examines the contributions of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF) in promoting education in deprived areas. Our findings suggest that the foundation provided AI laboratories, educational materials, a scholarship scheme, mentorship programs, and youth and adult education. We suggest the formalization of the relationship between chiefs and state agencies for effective collaboration and the allocation of statutory funds to OOTIIF and other foundations established by chiefs to boost teaching and learning in deprived areas in Ghana
