It is an honour to be part of the 2nd Ghana AI Summit and Awards. This has indeed become a critical conversation in today’s technology space. On behalf of Deloitte Ghana, I extend our sincere appreciation to the organisers - Knowledge Innovations - and all partners who have played key roles in bringing this national platform together. We are delighted to be part of this Summit. It is an important platform for national dialogue, practical collaboration, and shared commitment to shaping Ghana’s future in an AI-enabled world.
This year’s theme, “Artificial Intelligence for Economic Growth and Job Creation: Innovation, Inclusion and Future Jobs”, is both timely and important. It requires us to look beyond the technology and focus on what AI must deliver for the people, businesses, institutions, and the economy.
The Opportunity Before Us.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the hype is over, AI is no longer a distant possibility, but already changing how organisations serve customers, manage risk, improve productivity, analyse data, and make decisions. Across the world, AI is becoming a key driver of competitiveness, and Ghana cannot afford to observe from the sidelines.
Within Ghana, the opportunity is significant. AI can help farmers receive better information, improve health systems diagnosis and facilitate expansion of financial institutions access to services. It can also improve the way government serves citizens, strengthens accountability, and delivers public value.
But the real opportunity is not simply to use AI. The real opportunity is to use AI deliberately, responsibly, and strategically to solve Ghana’s problems, create opportunities and build capacity of Ghanaians.
AI as an Economic Growth Engine
Ladies and Gentlemen, at Deloitte, we believe AI should be understood first as economic growth, but not merely a technology agenda. GDP growth occurs when people and institutions create more value with available resources. AI can support this by reducing inefficiencies, improving decision-making, increasing speed and opening new avenues for innovation.
For businesses, this means using AI to improve customer service, strengthen supply chains, detect fraud, automate routine work, and identify new revenue opportunities. For government, AI will enhance data-driven planning, improved resource allocation, amongst others. For entrepreneurs, AI will help build solutions that can scale beyond local markets.
Jobs and the Future of Work
Ladies and Gentlemen, AI will automate some tasks, particularly repetitive and routine activities. At the same time, it will create demand for new skills and roles in data analysis, AI governance, cybersecurity, digital product development, AI assurance, change management, and human-AI collaboration.
The future of work will not belong only to those who build AI systems. It will also belong to those who can use AI responsibly to improve their profession, whether they are accountants, doctors, teachers, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs, public servants, or artisans.

From Deloitte’s perspective, successful AI transformation is not achieved by purchasing a tool or launching a pilot. It requires leadership, strategy, data readiness, technology, talent, governance, and adoption working together.
