The summit brought together innovators, policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and AI enthusiasts to explore the role of AI in driving economic growth, inclusion, and job creation across Ghana and Africa.Held from 29–30 July 2026 in Accra, the 2nd edition of the Ghana AI Summit & Awards provided a platform for innovation, industry engagement, knowledge sharing, and collaboration while promoting the responsible development and adoption of AI. The 3rd edition of the Ghana AI Summit is expected to take place from 24–25 March 2027

Ghana’s Data Protection Commission boss calls for ecosystem approach to unlock Ghana’s AI economy
The Executive Director of the Ghana Data Protection Commission, Dr. Arnold Kavaarpuo has called for a broader ecosystem approach to artificial intelligence as Ghana seeks to translate emerging technologies into economic growth, productive jobs and shared prosperity.
 
UNESCO, GETFund partner to build AI-ready TVET workforce - Teachers to receive digital, AI training nationwide
Ghana has taken a major step towards preparing its workforce for the digital economy following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

The President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, has said Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not replace healthcare professionals but rather enable better service delivery with limited resources.

The Principal Investigator at the Responsible AI Lab (RAIL), Professor Jerry John Kponyo, has called for the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into Ghana’s healthcare system, stressing the need for AI tools to be safe, transparent, fair and respectful of human dignity.

 Ghanaian Startup AnsPerez Builds AI Tools Across Sectors
Accra-based technology company, AnsPerez Enterprise, says it has developed artificial intelligence software spanning vehicle inspection, healthcare, agriculture and tourism, part of a push by its founder to build African-made digital tools for local and international markets.

Spotify to add label for AI-generated artists and remove them from recommendations
Spotify is introducing a new feature that will highlight if an artist has been generated by artificial intelligence (AI). The streaming service says the AI Persona badge, which will start appearing on some profiles from mid-September, will flag to listeners if an “artist’s identity may be AI-generated and does not represent a real person”.

Applications are open for the 12-week, fully funded Data Analytics Programme in Accra and Kumasi, delivered in partnership with Generation Ghana, with women and girls particularly encouraged to apply, although the opportunity is open to all genders.

As part of the ongoing activities supporting the Ghana AI Summit ecosystem, an AI Game Plan for Micro & Small Businesses workshop will be held on 27 August in association with AI Collective.The practical, hands-on session will be facilitated by Adam Watkins, Founder of AI for Ghana, and will focus on helping micro and small businesses understand how to apply AI to improve productivity and address business challenges
