Gideon Baffoe

Gideon Baffoe is a visionary IT leader and AI strategist with over 17 years of professional experience specializing in operational diagnostics and the strategic adoption of AI for businesses. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Africa AI Consult, where he leads day-to-day operations focused on AI education, software development, and launching digital on-demand platforms. Before leading Africa AI Consult, Gideon served for seven years as the Head of Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC). In this capacity, he was instrumental in expanding the Centre's information systems, overseeing large-scale technical implementations, and enhancing organizational security. His career is marked by a unique blend of deep technical skill and executive governance, including roles as a Lead Technical Consultant for an Oracle Gold Partner and a Systems Programmer Analyst. Gideon holds an M.Sc. in Informatics from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from KNUST, where his work on computerizing the SSNIT Informal Sector Scheme earned him the Undergraduate Best Project award. He is also a certified ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Lead Auditor, specializing in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), a vital expertise for the responsible and secure deployment of AI. Recognized for his commitment to building local talent, Gideon has facilitated AI Masterclasses and corporate training across West Africa, including Nigeria, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. At the 2026 Ghana AI Summit, he brings a roadmap for integrating AI into Ghana's corporate and governmental landscapes to drive sustainable economic transformation
