Deborah Asmah

Biography

Deborah Asmah is a technology governance and privacy professional working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital governance, privacy frameworks, and regulatory compliance. She is Co-founder of Npontu Technologies Ltd, where she contributes to strengthening Ghana’s digital ecosystem through the responsible and inclusive application of technology across multiple sectors. At Npontu, Deborah provides strategic leadership to a forward-looking technology enterprise operating at the forefront of Africa’s digital evolution. Her work spans the design and governance of AI-enabled digital solutions that enhance access to education, finance, and public services, while embedding trust, accountability, and regulatory readiness into innovation processes. Deborah holds an LLM in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Law from Queen Mary University of London. She is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and a Data Protection Officer with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana. Her multidisciplinary expertise bridges law, technology, and public policy, supporting the responsible deployment of emerging technologies across Africa. Her advocacy and research focus on AI ethics, regulatory compliance, and inclusive digital innovation. In 2025, she was appointed to the Board of the Business Outsourcing Services Association, Ghana (BOSAG) and received the Excellence in Leadership (IT Services) award at the Women’s Choice Awards. She is a sought-after speaker on AI governance, the future of work, ESG-aligned innovation, and women’s participation in technology.
