Dr. Gillian Hammah
Biography
Dr. Gillian Hammah is a transformative marketing executive and AI innovator with almost 30 years' experience spanning financial services, investment management, and AI technology across Ghana and Canada. As Founder of GradePoint AI, she developed an AI-powered academic assessment platform that helps university lecturers grade assignments, deliver personalised student feedback, and generate cohort-level insights. This solution has been able to free up 80-90% of lecturer admin time, while keeping lecturers in full academic control. She previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Aya Data, a leading AI consulting firm. Prior to Aya Data, she served as Group CMO at Databank Financial Services for 10 years and spent 15 years at Invesco Canada developing award-winning marketing campaigns. Gillian is an international keynote speaker on AI transformation and serves as guest lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School as well as an adjunct faculty at NIBS University. She writes a weekly article in Business and Financial Times called Embracing AI with Dr. Gillian Hammah, where she breaks down AI concepts and discusses how AI can be practically integrated into organizations of all sizes. She holds a PhD in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (CILG). During her PhD, she won Best Dissertation from the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance. She was recognized as one of Ghana's 50 most influential CMOs (2019) and won the Global Women in Marketing (WiM) AI for Impact Award in November 2025 for her work on advancing AI literacy and developing GradePoint AI for African tertiary institutions.
